USB is the most popular interface in various applications and its usage is expanding. Devices such as printers, which were formerly regarded as peripherals, are now often provided with USB host functions, allowing data to be transferred without connecting a personal computer. Nowadays, USB is also used such as system maintenance and embedded software update of electronics equipment.

On a single chip, the µPD720150 integrates communications functions that formerly required separate USB host and controller chips.
The µPD720150 was designed to the best suit in various embedded application to realize USB interface.
This controller facilitates software development by implementing numerous functions in hardware. Also it can connect a general-purpose CPU bus interface for connections to a wide variety of embedded CPUs.

The µPD720150, known as ECOUSB series products, integrates voltage regulator for core logic and several resistors for USB signals, helps developers to realize an ecological and economical system easily.

About USB Driver Support

Host function of the µPD720150 is not able to use a standard USB Host driver (EHCI etc.). It needs to use a driver stack of the µPD720150.
Peripheral function also needs the control driver of it.
