Development Results
Development of system LSI’s for next-generation DVD recorder
From logic design to mass production of SoC development flow, NEC Electronics has enhanced the EMMArchitecture2RH, a LSI for DVD recorder, with Serial ATA IP Core.
As evidence through this development example, NEC Electronics is capable of providing high level SATA IP Core, technical expertise in integration of it into SoC and excellent technical supports to customers.
Prototype Development
NEC Electronics has not only developed PHY cores, but also prototype host controller LSIs with corresponding evaluation boards whereby we have verified operational stability and inter-compatibility across various HDD drives developed by other companies.
Prototype Evaluation System
Prototype Board (Serial ATA HBA with a 64 bit PCI Interface)
- Integrates 8-channel SATA PHY core and 2-channel SATA1.0 Link/Trans Port layers, PCI Interface in this TEG chip.
- Operates properly with SATA1.0 HDD devices from various vendors.
- Demonstrated at Plugfest2002 and IDF2002 Fall.

- Integrates 8-channel SATA PHY core and 8-channel SATA1.0 Link/Trans Port layers, PCI/PCI-X Interface in this TEG chip.
- Demonstrated at CEATEC JAPAN 2003.
