Purchasing Activity Policies


Procurement policy for fiscal 2007

NEC Electronics operates and develops business in line with the guiding principles: "Raising customer satisfaction levels by enforcement of customer-oriented and improvement of solution suggestion power and product quality to increase sales and improve profitability." Corporatewide activity of providing optimized solutions to the customer is supported in the purchasing department by strengthening partnership with vendors.

We have 4 points as a procurement policy in fiscal 2007.


  • Assure supply corresponding to the new production system
  • Cost reduction activity corresponding to characteristics of each product type
  • Improvement of the quality (Zero-Defect)
  • Procurement activity inform a CSR standpoint including green procurement

We explained these 4 points to our partners at "NEC Electronics Partner's Day 2007" on June 13th.


  • 1st Request to partner
    • Stable supply to the production lines with high efficiency and increased capacity (front–end process materials)
    • Stable supply system corresponding to the acceleration of the overseas production (Back-end process materials, Equipment)
  • 3rd Request to partner
    • Standardization of operation by the production process re-check
    • Prevention of outflowing defective products by appropriate inspection before shipment
    • NO design-induced / material-induced quality accident
  • 2nd Request to partner
    • Production of back-end process materials at overseas plant and Suggestion of low price materials
    • Suggestion of low price equipment at a total cost bace by "TCO"(Total Cost of Ownership) thought
    • Efficient software / design development with the most suitable resource
  • 4th Request to partner
    • Environmental safeguard
      (Green procurement, RoHS compliance)
    • Thorough information security management
    • Construction of a foundation to support stable transactions
      (Disaster report, BCP, Fair trade)

Supply and demand still remains stringent about some materials and equipment for semiconductor production. Therefore, we continue to combine cost reduction and the stable supply based on the collaboration with partners in this fiscal year.
