Promotion of CSR Procurement

NEC Electronics understands that maintaining good relationships with customers, shareholders, investors, purchasing partners, local communities, employees, and other related individuals and organizations is essential to the well-being of our company. Earning the public's confidence as a responsible corporate citizen is one of our top priorities to continuously develop our company.

Based on this belief, in June 2004 we established the "NEC Electronics Guiding Principles" common to all groups, which outline our policies regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and which promote CSR company-wide.

We recognize, however, that CSR can never be achieved by NEC Electronics alone. Instead, the cooperation of all the partners in the supply chain is essential. NEC Electronics has defined "CSR procurement" as "conducting transactions with business partners who are also willing to promote the CSR activities being undertaken by NEC Electronics".
Our goal is to promote "CSR procurement" in such a way that we will build partnerships with companies that can enhance their corporate value by promoting CSR together with us.

The following lists the CSR activities being undertaken by NEC Electronics. We ask our partners to also take on these activities.
