Terminology Reference Symbol Description
Nominal dimensions D x E Combination of package length D and package width E
Package length D Length of package body
Package width E Width of package body
Tolerance value of package center position w Deviation of package center position from datum A or datum B
Seating plane Datum S The surface determined when package is placed on a horizontal surface.
Datum surface A Datum A

Calculated by crossing 2 straight lines by the Least Squares Method from both lengthwise and then widthwise terminal center positions, then making the X axis (lengthwise) surface datum A.

Datum surface B B Calculate by crossing 2 straight lines by the Least Squares Method from both the widthwise and lengthwise terminal center positions, then making the Y axis (widthwise) surface datum B.
Seated height A Height from seating plane to top edge of package body
1st standoff height A1 Height between seating plane and base plane (bottom edge of package body)
Package height A2 Height from base plane to top edge of Package body
Terminal pitch e Logically correct distance between terminal center positions
Terminal diameter b Diameter of each terminal
Tolerance value of terminal center position x Deviation of each terminal center position from datum A and datum B - Maximum Material Condition (MMC) applies.
Terminal coplanarity y Maximum deviation in vertical direction between each terminal bottom surface and seating plane
Parallelism of package top surface y1 Gap between top point and bottom point of package top surface from seating plane
Lengthwise overhang ZD Distance from center of terminal at extreme edge of the lengthwise direction to package edge
Widthwise overhang ZE Distance from center of terminal at extreme edge of the widthwise direction to package edge
