NEC Electronics Exhibits at 3GSM World Congress

Cutting-Edge Products Shown at World's Largest Mobile Communications Exhibit

NEC Electronics will exhibit its mobile phone ICs at the 2007 3GSM World Congress, to be held from February 12 to 15 in Barcelona, Spain. 3GSM is the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry. As always, NEC Electronics will have a significant presence at the show, exhibiting this year under the theme "Going Further". Along with other cutting-edge technologies, it will show its core Medity^TM M1 digital baseband and application processor for mobile phones, and its AP131 audio processor. Live demonstrations of TV and audio playback will make it clear how these advanced ICs can deliver rich multimedia content for tomorrow's mobile applications.

The Medity^TM M1 exhibition will feature 1) demonstrations of video and game play based on the Linux operating system, 2) reception and playback of DVB-H standard digital video broadcasts, and 3) reception and playback of analog TV.

The AP131 exhibition will showcase the chip's ability to deliver up to 60 hours of continuous audio playback.

Held every year in Barcelona, the 3GSM World Congress is the world's premier mobile event. This year it is expected to attract more than 57,000 visitors and about 1,300 exhibitors from around the world, bringing together the latest developments in mobile technology and services.
