3D Surround Technology
Melody LSIs produce two types of 3D sound effects technologies, namely,"3D Stereo Enhancement" and "3D Stereo Wide Surround".
"3D Stereo Enhancement"
"3D Stereo Enhancement" effect becomes realizable by applying DiMAGIC Virtualizer X™(DVX™) technology by DiMAGIC Co., Ltd. to closely spaced twin speakers.
DVX™ transforms ordinary stereo sound contents to high-quality 3D sound contents.
Closely spaced twin speakers of mobile terminals such as cellular phones make wide sweet spot(wide listenning area). When these close twin speakers radiate two channel stereo sound waves, the relative time lag(phase shift) of these two waves is small. Such phenomenon is the same when a user's listenning position is moving. On the other hand, since the installation interval of two speakers is narrow, it is difficult to acquire the stereo effect.
Under this condition, DVX™ technology can perform "3D Stereo Enhancement" employing efficiently the advantage of wide sweet spot.
"3D Stereo Wide Surround"
"3D Stereo Wide Surround" is acquired by applying DVX™ and Adaptive Surround™("AS" as abbr below) technologies by DiMAGIC Co., Ltd. to close twin speakers.
AS reproduce much better quality 5 channel sound signals from ordinal stereo contents comparing with ordinal technology.
The combination of DVX™ and AS enable users to enjoy sound playback in wide surround virtual area like 5 channel contents with small mobile terminals like cellular phone and ordinal stereo contents.
