Camera function is firmly established as an essential feature of nearly all mobile phones with data transmission functions. The demands for camera functions and performance increase every year, and have become highly complex, incorporating not only high pixel count and high resolution, but also multifunctionality, including image stabilization and noise reduction for photos taken in the dark. On top of this, customers want their phone cameras to be more compact than specialized camera devices.
Camera Engine Roadmap
CE143 implements NEC Electronics' proprietary single-frame super-resolution core, which reduces the graininess during the magnification process of digital zooming. As a result, even mobile phone units with no optical zoom are capable of taking close-up pictures and video clearly.
In order to take quick snaps of faces, it is equipped with a facial recognition auto focus function.
It is equipped with an image stabilizer function.
The image stabilization process while shooting a movie uses 4 axes up, down, left and right, while photographing still images uses 6 axes, up, down, left, right, back and forward. These multiple frames are superimposed on one another.
In CE143, image stabilization is assisted by hardware.
