Off-board Programming

This programming method consists in programming the flash microcontroller before it has been mounted on the target system.

  • A programadapter board that supports the package to be used is to be prepared.
  • The programming interface differs depending on the product.
Select the right product by checking the user's manual of each product.
  • If 3-wire serial H/S(Hand Shake) is supported, the use of the serial H/S(Hand Shake) enables faster writing.
  • Flash microcontrollers can be programmed regardless of whether they have already been programmed or are blank.

Below is an example of the off-board programming setup in which the PG-FP5 flash memory programmer of NEC Electronics is used.
