Feature
A real-time OS guarantees real-time performance for changes in internal and external events, and its major aim (work) is to execute optimal process programs in the optimal order.
- Conforms to the µITRON Ver. 4.0 Specification
As the architecture of the OS for embedded control, the RX850V4 has been designed to comply to the representative µITRON Ver. 4.0 Specification. It provides all functions specified as standard profile, and it provides extended synchronization and communications functions (mutexes) and memory pool management functions (variable length memory pools) specified as extended functions.
- Excellent portability
In order to support many execution environments, the hardware dependent processing necessary for the RX850V4 to execute processing has been extracted as target-dependent and user own coding portions and is provided as sample source files. In this way, portability to many different execution environments has been improved and customization is easy.
- ROM-based implementation
Since the system is a real-time/multitask OS assumed to be used embedded in the execution environment, it is aware of being ROM-based and has been designed to be compact.
Also, out of all the service calls provided by the RX850V4, since the system can be configured linking only the service calls used in the application system by the user, a real-time/multitask OS can be configured which is compact and optimized for the user's needs.
- Realization of memory savings
By using functions provided by the RX850V4 such as restricted tasks and preempt disable, the system's memory consumption can be reduced.
- Supplied utilities
Helpful utilities are provided for when the system is configured or when the system is debugged.
• Configurator CF850V4
• Configuration editor RE850V4
• Task debugger RD850V4
• System performance analyzer AZ850V4
