Idea 6: Consolidate several devices into one
By combining multiple FPGAs and other devices into a single gate array, you save in several ways. For a start, you get the inherently lower price and lower power consumption of gate arrays. Eliminating the buffers and circuits duplicated in multiple devices achieves further savings for both price and power. The single gate array can also reduce board size.
