Mini and compact disc players are still the most popular portable audio players among the younger generation. In recent years however a change has started to occur, with hard disks becoming more compact and offering greater capacity. As a result, a succession of compact audio players with built-in HDDs has appeared on the market, with sales growing steadily among intermediate and advanced PC users. The appeal of this technology is its convenience, as it does not require a change of recoding medium. Capitalizing on expertise and technical capabilities accumulated through the development of PC devices, NEC Electronics offers various devices vital to HDD and interface control.
