DIGITAL CAMCORDERS

Providing technology to support development after digitalization
DIGITAL CAMCORDERS

Because camcorders are used at home to keep a visual record of children's growth and major family events, demand for them is consistent. In this area too the transition from analog to digital is almost complete, and the next major issues will concern further improvement in picture quality and higher added value. Examples of these include realization of mega pixel technology capable of handling high-resolution recording functions and providing high image quality; the development of recording media from tapes, for example, to DVD and hard disks; and conversion of a recording format from DV to MPEG. NEC Electronics is supplying IC devices which support the evolution of the digital camcorder in a wide range of products, based on technical capabilities cultivated by working with traditional analog camcorders.
