Samples are divided into those under development and those in mass production.
Samples under development are classified as follows.
DS(Design Sample)
This sample is at a development stage before operation verification is completed and may also be called a mechanical sample.
Especially, the sample that has been manufactured first is called FS (first silicon).
ES(Engineering Sample)
This sample is at a development stage where the functions have been verified to almost all extents but may have bugs.
CS(Commercial Sample)
This sample is at a development stage where the operation has been verified and reliability has been evaluated, and is equivalent to a mass-production model.
After mass production has been started, evaluation samples are supplied upon request from a customer.
If the customer conducts a reliability test, QT (Quality Test) samples are provided.
