DSP is the abbreviated name of a 16-bit fixed decimal point digital signal processor.
In the mobile application set, it cannot remain in speech processing, but signal processing of various media, such as music and picture, can be realized by the high-speed operation and low power consumption.
By the NEC Electronics, 16-bit fixed decimal point DSP uPD77111 family and µPD77210 family are offered to the mobile product with which high performance is called for more.
The µPD77111 Family, implemented with a 0.25-micron process, offers power/performance ratings from 0.8 to 1.25mW/MIPS. The µPD77210 Family raises the bar even higher. Implemented with a 0.13-micron process, this family achieves power/performance of 0.5mW/MIPS.
Moreover, the middleware that adapted to various compression systems, such as an audio and video, is also offered.
Systems development is supported by total product power based on DSP, such as ASSP for mobile products.
