Low Capacitance Type

Product Lineup : NNCD[ ]LG/LH/MF/MG/RG/RH/RL

Two series, the NNCD[ ]MF and NNCD[ ]MG (20 pF/30 kV) with large ESD tolerance have been added to the conventional low-capacitance types. The combination of allowable capacitance and required ESD tolerance provides customers with a choice that suits their needs more than ever.

  • Capacitance

NNCDs function as capacitors when they are not used for ESD absorption. Capacitance constituted of capacitor elements is preferably small because it causes waveforms to delay.
For example, NNCD capacity will become a problem if data transfer speeds exceed 1 Mbps, such as with a USB connection. Thus, a low-capacitance type NNCD with a small capacitance is suitable.

  • Package Miniaturization

The NNCD[ ]LH is a low-capacitance type NNCD with four circuits mounted in a SC-88A (SSP) package.
It is optimal for ESD protection of cellular phones, PDAs, notebook PCs, and other appliances for which weight saving and downsizing of the set is sought after.
The mount area is about 50% of that of a SC-74A package, including lead parts, and thus allows high-density mounting.
