Absorption Device for Electrostatic Discharge and Surge Absorption
NSAD (NEC Surge Absorber Device) and NNCD are diodes developed by NEC for ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and surge absorption.
Countries worldwide have adopted EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) regulations. EMC regulations address EMS (Electromagnetic Susceptibility) requirements, and one of those EMS requirements is the control of ESD.
NECs IEC 61000-4-2 EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) tests demonstrate that NECs NSAD and NNCD series diodes meet the ESD requirements outlined in IEC Pub. 801-2.
| NNCD | Low Capacitance Type | ESD 8 kV(MIN.), Capacitance 10 pF(TYP.) | Electrostatic Discharge Surge Absorber |
| High ESD Endurance Type 1 | ESD 30 kV(MIN.), Capacitance 20 pF(TYP.) | ||
| High ESD Endurance Type 2 | ESD 30 kV(MIN.) |
IEC61000-4-2(IEC pub.801-2)
NNCD assures an endurance of no less than 30 kV, based on the IEC61000-4-2 test on EMI.
