High-Image-Quality 1-Chip NTSC/PAL/SECAM Video Decoder LSI


Features

The µPD64012 is a system LSI that realizes the main functions of a video decoder.
It has the following five main functions.


  1. Video decoder function that can convert analog video signals into high-quality digital video signals
  2. 3D noise reduction function that detects and removes the noise component in analog video signals and eliminates image flicker, etc., and that supports NTSC, PAL and SECAM.
  3. Anti alias filter function that eliminates noise that exceeds the video signal bandwidth
  4. Support of various interface standards used between AV equipment, consisting of the Scart system, the S system, and the component and composite systems.
  5. 3D Y/C separation function that accurately separates the luminance signal and chrominance signal in NTSC signals to reduce image noise

  • Clock rate conversion function (from burst lock clock to horizontal sync clock)
  • Image adjustment functions including sub-contrast/sub-color, LTI/CTI, sharpness
  • Functions for drawing pictures, such as APL detection, DC transfer rate correction, white peak, black extension, and ACL
  • VBI data slice function, copy guard detection function
  • Control functions via I2C bus
