As a company of the NEC Group, which is a core member of the USB Implementers Forum, NEC Electronics has performed a central role in the technology development and market development regarding USB 2.0 products. In the Wireless USB field, NEC Electronics has been carrying out its aggressive activities as well.
NEC Electronics has currently three WUSB product lineup, µPD720170, µPD720180 and µPD720171. These LSIs enable the realization of Wireless USB system by using WiMedia PHY.
Moreover, NEC Electronics is planning to release a reference design based on Wireless USB technology, co-developing with several companies.
