Low power consumption for both music and video applications!

Introducing the MP201

The MP201 is the ideal application processor for high-performance portable equipment having a built-in hard disk drive and LCD, such as mobile receivers for terrestrial digital broadcasts.

Realizing low power consumption

The MP201 features three clock signal control modes and seven operation control modes that are automatically switched based on use conditions.
The combination of this mode switching with a low-power DSP has helped to dramatically reduce power consumption.

Single-package integration of video and audio processing functions required for portable devices

These functions, which used to be divided among three discrete LSIs, are now integrated in the MP201's 14 mm square chip package, saving approximately 15% more board area, and enabling further miniaturization of portable devices.

  1. Includes DSP functions and CPU functions for processing video and audio data.
  2. Includes essential functions for portable devices.
    • Interface function enables input of transport stream from OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) demodulator LSI.
    • Interface function for NAND flash memory with built-in error correction
    • Interface functions for cameras, LCDs, and memory cards
  3. Power supply function overcomes problem of noise generation toward peripheral LSIs.

Not only does the MP201 ease the workload of portable device developers, it helps end users enjoy a richer AV listening and viewing experience.
