New architecture provided with FB-DIMM is fundamental for enhancing the performance of memory modules in servers/workstations, which will continue to evolve in the future. The present DDR2 generation still contains conventional registered DIMM, but point-to-point connection is a must for DDR2-800 and the subsequent DDR3 generation. AMBs are also evolving from the present first generation models specialized for DDR2, to AMB2 to cater to DDR3.
NEC Electronics intends to contribute to growth of the high-end computing market through development and supply of AMB devices, with experienced high-speed serial interface technology for PCI-EXPRESS, serial ATA and ASIC for communication equipment.
